You are hunting with professional hunter Gerhard von Hasseln, who has been living in South Africa for 45 years. Gerhard has accumulated four decades of hunting experience in six African countries. Safaris have taken him to Burkina Faso, Zambia, Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe where he has hunted antelope and big game like lion, leopard and buffalo.

The form of hunting on Thornkloof is by stalking or in the more difficult terrain from raised constructed hides. We have 10 such treestands which have been very successful when hunting Bushbuck and Kudu. When stalking, shots are usually taken from tripods.

Our farm is part of a conservancy of 20.000 ha, and being part of this conservancy allows us to hunt from January to December.
